A little less than 3 years ago we launched the automatic audio mixing plug-in Alex Audio Butler v1. With a basic set of features – and a lot of magic under the hood to make it work – it has proven to be a successful first product in the video editing landscape.
The goal was always to add more automatic audio features and presets. Think: de-noising, EQing, creative filters, and who knows what else will be possible… But with every update of NLEs and operating systems the number of “bandaids” needed to keep the “magic” working grew. Sadly it became clear that almost all programming effort went to keeping it running, with no time for adding new stuff.
This is why some time ago I decided it’s time to take the plunge and take content production automation to the next step, without the limitations of being an audio plug-in.
The Alex Audio Butler plug-in is not sold anymore since January 1 2023. Transition options to End Boost for legacy license owners are shown below.

End Boost is a standalone desktop application, built with the same AI audio engine as the Alex Audio Butler plug-in that it replaces. The goal is to assist with all repetitive tasks of the video creation process between editing the story and releasing the end result.
Right now it has feature parity with the plug-in, which means that every result that could be achieved with Alex Audio Butler can be achieved with End Boost, and more. So transitioning is easy. For a more in depth feature comparison see the table below.
Update: 6 Apr 2023 we’ve launched version 1.5.0 which adds A.I. based smart De-noising for Voice recordings, a big GUI overhaul and more. This means End Boost’s mixing capabilities and audio output quality have fully transcended those of the old Plug-in!
It’s already part of the workflow of video editors around the world who jumped in during the alpha, beta and early access stages. Both coming from using the Alex Audio Butler plug-in, or starting fresh. Thanks to their feedback, we’re sure it can become a standard tool in every video editor’s toolkit!
As I write this we’ve just launched End Boost v1. The road map for v2 and beyond is full of fun and useful stuff that will be quicker to roll-out, without limitations of the plug-in format.
To align your and our interests we’ve decided on a subscription model. This means you will always immediately get the newest features and updates, and we can focus on improving End Boost, without having to think about sales cycles etc.
